What information do I need to provide to get started?

All we need is your starting point - usually your full name, date of birth and whatever details you know about your parents and grandparents. Once you book, we'll send you a Starter Pack with a link to the Family History Information Form to capture these details securely.

How far back can you typically trace a lineage?

In the UK and English-speaking world, we can usually trace lineage back to the 1700s or early 1800s using civil registration and census data. If records permit, we can sometimes even reach as far back as the early Medieval period through parish registers!

What if you hit a 'brick wall' and find nothing?

History isn't always a straight line. If a specific branch goes cold, we pivot our investigative lens to a different ancestral line or focus on deepening the social history of the ancestors we have found, ensuring you still receive a rich, complete narrative.
 

Can I commission a gift for someone else?

Yes. Many clients commission one of our products as a legacy gift. You can purchase the product yourself (we will coordinate the information brief with either you or the recipient), or you can choose a gift card (value of your choosing) to give to the recipient, who can then use the gift card towards payment of their own purchase.
 

How is my family history delivered?

Your Digital Narrative / Curator's Collection is delivered as a high-resolution PDF directly to your email. If you've commissioned a Heritage Chest, this will be delivered to your front door once the digital research is finalised and physical Lineage Archive is printed.
 

Is my family data kept private?

Absolutely. We operate with the discretion of a private investigator. Your data is used exclusively for your research and is never shared, sold or published without your explicit consent.
 

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We accept Klarna, allowing you to split the cost of your residency into interest-free instalments, as well as all major debit / credit cards.
 

Are there any hidden costs?

Your residency fee is all-inclusive. We cover the costs of standard digital record access. If during a project, we discover either a family heirloom, a painting or another item that may be of value to your family, we will get in contact and make you aware, allowing you to purchase the item should you so wish.
